Opening Night

MY FATHER’S SHADOW
Friday, March 13, 7:00 p.m.
🏆 2026 Oscar® Selection, UK
History and memory blend in Nigeria’s first-ever Cannes selection. On the day of the country’s first election since a military coup a decade earlier, young brothers Akin and Remi’s absent father returns home. Director Akinola Davies Jr. and his co-writer and brother Wale Davies invoke the memories of their own youth in this lyrically crafted ode to fatherhood and brotherhood.
