Special Features: East Coast Premiere | Q&A with director Ruán Magan, screenwriter Sheena Lambert and actor Eleanor O’Brien
In the scorching late summer of 1975, at a rural lakeside idyll, pub owner Peggy Casey (Eleanor O'Brien) prepares for a weekend full house of fishermen and GAA fans to watch the All-Ireland final at Tigh Casey. When the body of a woman is discovered under the receding lakeside waters, it is assumed to be the remains of a local from the village graveyard that was submerged there decades earlier after the valley was flooded for a new power station. But when Detective Frank Ryan (Moe Dunford) is sent from Dublin to investigate, everyone becomes suspicious and questions emerge. What he uncovers sheds a disturbing light on the history of the valley and on the difficult relations between Peggy and her siblings. Over the course of his investigation, he will not only reveal the terrible truth behind the dead woman’s story but also the deepest secrets of the Casey family.
