EVENT HORIZON
In 2040, the pioneering research spacecraft Event Horizon mysteriously vanished without a trace on its maiden voyage. Seven years later, a persistent signal in the darkness of deep space prompts a rescue crew to wing its way through the galaxy on a bold rescue mission. Led by Captain S.J. Miller (Laurence Fishburne), the crew also includes Dr. William Weir (Sam Neill), the disgraced astrophysics engineer who crafted the Event Horizon’s mysterious malfunctioning gravity drive. But what they uncover is an unimaginable interstellar horror that will test the entire team’s sanity and their very souls. Blending the psychological terror of THE SHINING with the nightmarish futuristic vision of ALIEN, Paul W.S. Anderson’s film was a box-office failure upon release but has since been reassessed as an influential cult classic. (Note adapted from Paramount Pictures.) DIR Paul W.S.
