MILLY: QUEEN OF MERENGUE

This lively musical biopic explores the trials and tribulations leading up to Milly Quezada’s solo career and how she earned the title of “Queen of Merengue.” Arriving in New York City’s Washington Heights neighborhood in the 1970s as her family fled civil war in the Dominican Republic, Milly (Sandy Hernandez) and her siblings form a band to play the merengue music of their homeland that their community misses sorely.
