A food-poisoning scandal sends a multi-national corporation into a tailspin, and they convene top executives at a Mexican resort for an emergency summit on how best to tackle this public relations nightmare. Arriving from the Buenos Aires office is Mechi (Natalia Oreiero), the trip a welcome reprieve from her husband’s constant schemes. After a long day of meetings and ready to unwind, a terrifying earthquake sends Mechi stumbling out to the pool in her pajamas looking for help. There she meets fellow executive Guillermo (Gael García Bernal), and the two strike up a quick rapport. He is similarly stuck in a difficult marriage and desperate for connection. Late-night talks lead to drinks and hotel room rendezvous. But is their romantic entanglement in this liminal space a midlife crisis cry for help or something more?
