Old-fashioned cowboy doll Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) is the top toy in Andy’s room, leading a ragged crew that includes Mr. Potato Head (Don Rickles), Slinky Dog (Jim Varney), Rex (Wallace Shawn), Hamm (John Ratzenberger) and Bo Peep (Annie Potts). When Andy’s parents gift him a high-tech Buzz Lightyear action figure (Tim Allen) — a toy who thinks he is a real spaceman — Woody’s vaunted position is jeopardized. Woody and Buzz immediately butt heads, but when they are accidentally separated from Andy, the two must put aside their differences to return to their beloved boy. The feature debut from Pixar Animation Studios was a watershed in the field of animation, forever changing the medium thanks to its cutting-edge computer graphics and immense charm.
