THE LAST VIKING
[DEN SIDSTE VIKING]
In a last-ditch effort to save a bank heist gone wrong, Anker (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) leaves the loot with his brother Manfred (Mads Mikkelsen) and asks him to hide it until he gets out of prison. Fifteen years later, Anker is ready to collect, but in the intervening time, Manfred has suffered a mental breakdown, forgotten where he hid the money and, even worse, thinks he is John Lennon. Hoping to jog his memory, Anker takes Manfred back to their childhood home, but he starts to lose hope when they are joined by Manfred’s doctor and two of his psychiatric patients. When criminals come looking for Anker and the cash, the two brothers will have to band together if they want to make it out alive. Danish filmmaker Anders Thomas Jensen (RIDERS OF JUSTICE) reunites with superstars Kaas and Mikkelsen for this rollicking black comedy punctuated by violence, heart and the Beatles. –Josh Gardner
