HOLA FRIDA Watch Trailer

HOLA FRIDA

Adapted from Sophie Faucher and Cara Carmina’s children’s book “Frida, C’est Moi” and freely inspired by Frida Kahlo’s life, this charming animated film recounts the early childhood of the beloved Mexican painter. Little Frida is an inquisitive young girl who loves her beautiful Mexican village of Coyoacán. A polio diagnosis confines her to her bedroom, but such an affliction is no match for the spirited youth, who turns for support to her imagination and the art form that unleashes her immensely rich creativity. With whimsical animation that takes a page from Kahlo’s unique artistic style, HOLA FRIDA is a vibrant, joyous and inspiring portrait of an artist whose life and work was like no other. –Javier Chavez
