DEAD CALM
In this top-notch thriller shot almost entirely at sea, Nicole Kidman is Rae, a young mother recovering from the death of her child. Kidman’s “get away and recover” period aboard the sailboat she shares with her husband, John (Sam Neill), is shortened when the couple encounters a mysterious castaway Hughie (Billy Zane). While John is off exploring the castaway’s sinking ship, Rae must fight to save herself and, later, her returning husband.
