An international co-production between India and Japan that took nearly 10 years to make at the cost of more than 800 million yen, RAMAYANA: THE LEGEND OF PRINCE RAMA is an adaptation of the Sanskrit epic rendered with beautiful animation by a team of 450 animators that included members of Japan's famed Studio Ghibli. In Ayodhya, the royal palace of Kosala Kingdom in ancient India, four princes were born to three queens. When court intrigue pushes Prince Rama into exile, he retreats into the forest with his beautiful wife Sita for 14 years. Their stay is fraught with danger, and though Rama vanquishes the demons in the forest, he invites the wrath of their king Ravana, who kidnaps Situ.
