Amaia (Laia Costa) and Javi (Mikel Bustamante) have just welcomed a beautiful baby girl and attempt to balance their personal, professional and parental lives as best they can. When Javi disappears for several weeks due to "work," Amaia is left on her own, a challenge she studiously accepts but which quickly becomes overwhelming. She takes refuge in the home of her own parents, Koldo (Ramón Barea) and Begoña (Susi Sánchez). Before long, the energetic matriarch is stricken by illness and the dynamic of parent and child is upended. Writer and director Alauda Ruiz de Azúa's feature-length debut is a gentle and honest exploration of multiple -hoods — parenthood, motherhood and fatherhood — that echoes Oscar® winner THE FATHER but with a distinctly Spanish Basque touch.
