COPS (1922)
A young man (Buster Keaton) brings down the wrath of the entire LAPD on his head after he accidentally throws a bomb into their parade. An energetic chase ensues, but despite using all of his resources to elude, escape and ultimately cage his tormentors, a Kafkaesque twist usurps his efforts. DIR/SCR Edward F. Cline, Buster Keaton; PROD Joseph M. Schenck. U.S., 1922, b&w, 18 min. NOT RATED
THE BLACKSMITH (1922)
When a blacksmith is arrested, his apprentice (Buster Keaton) must take over the shop, with laugh-out-loud results. Newly restored, including more than four minutes of previously lost footage, by Lobster Films. DIR/SCR Buster Keaton, Malcolm St. Clair; PROD Joseph M. Schenck. U.S., 1922, b&w, 23 min. NOT RATED
THE FROZEN NORTH (1922)
A cowboy (Buster Keaton) finds himself in the frozen north, "last stop on the subway," and proceeds to viciously lampoon the western melodramas of the day, typified by the work of William S. Hart. Look for a brief and winking reference to Erich von Stroheim's womanizing character in FOOLISH WIVES, also screening in this year's Silent Cinema Showcase. DIR/SCR Edward F. Cline, Buster Keaton; PROD Joseph M. Schenck. U.S., 1922, b&w, 17 min. NOT RATED
THE ELECTRIC HOUSE
A paperwork mix-up leaves botany grad Buster (Buster Keaton) with a degree in electrical engineering. When he's offered a job to wire a new home that boasts an array of fancy appliances and mod cons, he goes with the flow. But the real engineering grad, deprived of his proper accreditation, shows up to exact revenge on the clueless Buster, and rewires the house into a gauntlet of booby traps. DIR/SCR Edward F. Cline, Buster Keaton; PROD Joseph M. Schenck. U.S., 1922, b&w, 23 min. NOT RATED
