WHY CHANGE YOUR WIFE?

WHY CHANGE YOUR WIFE?

Special Features: Silent with live musical accompaniment by Andrew Simpson. Introduction by Art Deco Society of Washington

Cecil B. DeMille's role-reversed, semi-sequel to his 1919 hit DON’T CHANGE YOUR HUSBAND sees husband Thomas Meighan stray from frumpy, un-fun wife Gloria Swanson, eventually marrying comely shopgirl Bebe Daniels. Meighan soon regrets his move, especially after getting an eyeful of his newly single ex-wife, post-makeover. A lively battle for reunification begins. The elaborate costuming is by the young future director Mitchell Leisen. DIR/PROD Cecil B. DeMille; SCR Olga Printzlau, Sada Cowan; PROD Jesse L. Lasky. U.S., 1920, b&w, 91 min.
