Our Movie Memories: Short Films by Jeff Krulik, John Heyn, Gregory Stavropolous and more!
This program of locally produced short films serves as a time capsule documenting the imperiled existence of several Washington, DC-area movie theaters — some ultimately destroyed. Included are Jeff Krulik and/or John Heyn's THEATER DARK (1984), SAVING THE CIRCLE (1986), TWENTY-FIVE CENTS BEFORE NOON (1987) and SCENES FROM THE LAST DRIVE-IN (1989). Also on the program: vintage industrial short THE MAN IN THE BOX (M.P.M.O. Local 224, ca. 1959) and Gregory Stavropolous' THE PERFECTIONISTS (1991), two short films about the art of film projection that include scenes filmed inside DC's Uptown and Warner Theaters. Total program approximately 60 min. NOT RATED
