Stuck in an abusive relationship with her mobster boyfriend, Caesar (Joe Pantoliano), Violet initiates an affair with Corky. When they discover that Caesar is delivering $2 million in cash to his boss, the two women craft a plan to escape together with the money, framing Caesar for its disappearance. But the scheme goes south due to Caesar’s unexpected behavior, and Corky and Violet enter a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with the psychotic gangster in the tight confines of their apartment building. Praised for its realistic portrayal of a lesbian relationship, BOUND has endured thanks to the committed performances of Gershon and Tilly, as well as the Wachowskis’ razor-sharp direction and cinematographer Bill Pope’s inspired lensing.
