ALL NIGHT LONG (1962)
Special Features: Intro by Film Noir Foundation founder and TCM host Eddie Muller on Oct. 10
Director Basil Dearden transplants Shakespeare’s “Othello” to London’s jazz world. Music promoter Rod Hamilton (Richard Attenborough) hosts an anniversary party for star musician Aurelius Rex (Paul Harris) and his wife, Delia Lane (Marti Stevens), a retired singer. But scheming drummer Johnny Cousin (Patrick McGoohan) wants Delia to come out of retirement and join his own band. Looking to break up the couple, Cousin spreads rumors of an affair between Delia and Aurelius’ manager, Cass (Keith Michell), pushing the jazzman over the edge. The band playing during the all-night party features real-life jazz greats Dave Brubeck, Charles Mingus and John Dankworth.
