“Lions and tigers and bears. Oh my!” Judy Garland stars as Dorothy, the lonely dreamer from Kansas who runs away with her dog, Toto, and is transported over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz, where she makes an enemy of the Wicked Witch of the West. In order to return home, Dorothy must seek out the all-powerful Wizard of Oz with the help of her new friends: a scarecrow without a brain, a tin man without a heart and a cowardly lion. The film received five Oscar® nominations, with wins for Best Score and Best Song (“Over the Rainbow”), plus an honorary Academy Juvenile Award for Judy Garland.
