Shorts and Docs and Rock 'n' Roll

Shorts and Docs and Rock 'n' Roll

…are very good indeed! This program is a freewheelin' assembly of rock doc shorts and surprises all produced in the DMV area, including the local premiere of FUGAZI'S BARBER (by filmmakers Joe Tropea and Robert Emmons, Jr.), in which an old-school Italian barbershop meets '80s hardcore; PUNK & TOMATOES, featuring punk fan Bill MacKenzie, whose Zelig-like reach extends from Dischord Records' first releases to the infamous Fear riot on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE; Davis White's WE LOVE THE HANGMEN, about the '60s DC garage rock band legends; plus Sara T. Gama's MISS CHELOVE: FROM JAVA TO THE STREETS OF DC, a profile of muralist Miss Chelove (aka Cita Sadeli), who draws inspiration from the local harDCore scene. The program will also include several sneak peeks and cutting room extras from music docs recently completed or still in progress. Program curated by John Kinhart and Jeff Krulik. Approximately 100 min.
