A belligerent Slovenian brass band loads up the tour bus and heads to Austria for a small-town gig in this wry black-and-white comedy. With members ranging from young to old, the boisterous band makes the most of their time on the road, escaping from their daily lives with an anything-goes vibe that starts with drinking and ends with even more drinking. But not everything goes to plan, with bus scrapes, extra-marital affairs and a fair bit of overindulgence putting a damper on the merry-making. Filmmaker Matevž Luzar tells this story in five vignettes, including a detour to check in on the wives left behind in Slovenia, who have no problem getting into trouble of their own. Luzar spent his youth traveling with this very band, loosely adapting his own experiences into this award-winning tale of a band behaving badly. Winner, Best Director, Forward Future Section, 2022 Beijing Film Festival; Winner, Silver Star, Best Director, Cinedays Film Festival. DIR/SCR Matevž Luzar; PROD Petra Vidmar.
