QUICK AND THE DEAD, THE (1995)
In Sam Raimi's darkly humorous revisionist Western, a mysterious young gunslinger known only as "The Lady" (Sharon Stone) rides into the frontier town of Redemption to settle a score that has haunted her since she was a child. There, she becomes swept up in a deadly quick-draw tournament and, in order to win her revenge, must compete in a contest in which gunfighters from across the country put their lives on the line for fame and fortune. A critical and commercial disappointment upon its release in 1995, THE QUICK AND THE DEAD has since become one of Raimi's most beloved films. The stellar supporting cast includes Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio and legendary John Ford regular Woody Strode, in his final film role.
