BEAT THE DEVIL Watch Trailer

BEAT THE DEVIL

Special Features: 4K Restoration

Now restored to its full length, John Huston's BEAT THE DEVIL is still the campy, quirky, spoofy version of a Hollywood adventure film that made it a cult classic, just now with a few of the plot holes resolved. Formerly rich, currently down-on-his-luck American expat Humphrey Bogart schemes to secure a lucrative uranium deal in British East Africa through a shaky partnership with several shady characters from the Ravello underworld, including Robert Morley and Peter Lorre. But the arrival of a posh British couple (Edward Underdown and Jennifer Jones) causes a distraction among the enterprise partners, not to mention between Bogart and his Italian wife Gina Lollobrigida. DIR/SCR/PROD John Huston; SCR Truman Capote, from the novel by Claud Cockburn. U.S., 1953, b&w, 94 min. NOT RATED
