JACKIE BROWN
Special Features: 25th Anniversary
Adapted from Elmore Leonard's novel "Rum Punch," Quentin Tarantino directed this star vehicle for actress Pam Grier, creating a heartfelt homage to the Blaxploitation genre and one of its icons. Struggling to make ends meet, Jackie Brown (Grier) works as a flight attendant on a regional airline and smuggles money on the side for mobster Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson). Pinched by ATF agent Ray Nicolette (Michael Keaton), Jackie is bailed out by Ordell via bail bondsman Max Cherry (Robert Forster), and love blooms between the kindred souls over drinks and The Delfonics' "Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time." Caught between the law and the mob, Jackie and Max plot to play one against the other, pocket a big score and walk away free. Robert De Niro and Bridget Fonda round out the stellar ensemble cast.
