THEY ALL LAUGHED
Unfairly underseen due to the tragic murder of its star, director Peter Bogdanovich's partner Dorothy Stratton, shortly after filming, THEY ALL LAUGHED has since been re-evaluated as one of Bogdanovich's best, with Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson singing its praises. Indeed, this breezy romantic comedy, shot on location in '80s New York, deserves to be seen on the big screen. Ben Gazzara and John Ritter star as Russo and Rutledge, two private detectives with a bad habit of getting involved with the subjects of their investigations. Audrey Hepburn, in her last starring role, plays the wife of a crooked and unfaithful businessman who sparks up a romance with Russo, while Rutledge falls head over heels for a cheating wife played by Stratton.
