THE WOLF OF WALL STREET
Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort, a young stockbroker hungry for a life of nonstop thrills, in a wickedly funny and epic rags to-riches drama from director Martin Scorsese. Adapted from the real-life Belfort's memoir by writer Terence Winter (creator of BOARDWALK EMPIRE), THE WOLF OF WALL STREET follows his meteoric rise as a stockbroker engaged in increasingly corrupt and fraudulent money-making schemes. The bacchanalian debauchery and moral ambiguity on display is familiar territory for Scorsese, and while the characters here don't belong to any bona fide Mafia, they certainly resemble the gangsters in GOODFELLAS. Running at a brisk three hours, it features a stellar cast that includes Jonah Hill as Belfort's pitiful lieutenant and Margot Robbie in her breakout role as his second wife, along with Matthew McConaughey, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Jon Bernthal, Jon Favreau and Jean Dujardin. DIR/PROD Martin Scorsese; SCR Terence Winter, from the memoir by Jordan Belfort; PROD Riza Aziz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joey McFarland, Emma Tillinger Koskoff. U.S., 2013, 180 min. RATED R
