NIGHTS OF CABIRIA
Special Features: 4K Restoration
[LE NOTTI DI CABIRIA]
Prostitute Cabiria (Giulietta Masina, LA STRADA) dreams of happiness while working in Rome's drab outskirts. After a movie star dumps her, she finds true love with a respectable man — who betrays and robs her. Despite her precarious fortunes and misadventures both comedic and tragic, Cabiria holds onto her belief in the goodness of life. An Oscar® winner for Best Foreign Language Film, the film later became the basis of the stage play "Sweet Charity" and the subsequent film of the same name, directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse. The Rialto Pictures restoration includes a seven-minute sequence cut before the film's premiere. DIR/PROD Federico Fellini; SCR Ennio Flaiano, Tullio Pinelli, Pier Paolo Pasolini.
