DELICIOUS (2021)
[DÉLICIEUX]
France, 1789: master chef Manceron (Grégory Gadebois) has risen from humble origins to become the most valued servant in the house of the Duke of Chamfort (Benjamin Lavernhe). But after the chef makes a faux pas – Manceron dares to experiment with new dishes, which the Duke's snobbish coterie, incurious and lacking real taste, rejects – he is cast out from his post and falls into a funk. Sulking the days away at his family's country inn, Manceron is visited by a mysterious woman named Louise (Isabelle Carré) who is keen to apprentice with the renowned chef. The two soon cook up a new idea: preparing meals to serve to the many travelers who visit the inn. Perhaps the people of France might appreciate good food, and a little variety, even if it's lost on the aristocratic 1%. And so, the revolutionary concept of the restaurant is born in Éric Besnard's crowd-pleasing historical romp. DIR/SCR Éric Besnard; SCR Nicolas Boukhrief; PROD Philip Boëffard, Christophe Rossignon.
