NEXT DOOR (2021)
Special Features: North American Premiere
[NEBENAN]
Daniel Brühl (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR) stars as Daniel, a successful German-Spanish actor living the good life in Berlin. He's got the fancy loft apartment and the picture-perfect family. He even has a top-secret screen test in London for a role in an upcoming superhero film. Sound familiar? On the morning of his flight, he decides to stop into the local pub for a drink. There he meets the middle-aged Bruno (Peter Kurth), who first appears to be an overzealous fan, but turns out to be his next-door neighbor — and Bruno has been waiting for this very moment to exact his revenge. Brühl makes his directorial debut with this wicked, socially conscious and self-deprecating black comedy. Official Selection, 2021 Berlin Film Festival. DIR/PROD Daniel Brühl; SCR Daniel Kehlmann; PROD Malte Grunert. Germany, 2021, color, 92 min. In English, Spanish and German with English subtitles. NOT RATED
