MOST BEAUTIFUL BOY IN THE WORLD, THE
Special Features: Q&A with filmmakers Kristina Lindström and Kristian Petri on Dec. 7
At the world premiere of DEATH IN VENICE in 1971, Italian director Luchino Visconti proclaimed Björn Andrésen, the teen star of his latest film, "the most beautiful boy in the world." Thrust into international stardom at a young age for his good looks, it might seem Andrésen's life was all glamor, but Kristina Lindström and Kristian Petri's probing, haunting documentary reveals that trauma and tragedy were ever-present. Now 50 years later, Andrésen (who most recently had a small role in Ari Aster's MIDSOMMAR) reflects on his personal history and recounts how he tried to overcome the whirlwind of adoration mixed with objectification and lead a normal life — a struggle still faced by young actors to this day.
