Paul McCartney and Wings - One Hand Clapping
Directed by David Litchfield, this film captures a moment when Paul McCartney & Wings found and defined their signature sound. Shot over four days at Abbey Road Studios in August 1974, the documentary provides insight into the band's inner workings as they collaborate in the studio. In addition to performances of tracks from their album masterpiece "Band on the Run" (released in 1973) and intimate footage of Wings hanging out combined with audio-interview snippets, the film also features a previously unreleased solo acoustic performance by McCartney called "The Backyard Sessions." An introduction by McCartney — recorded exclusively for movie theater audiences — and unseen Polaroids of the band kick off this screening event. DIR David Litchfield. UK, 1974, color, 67 min.
