IT TOLLS FOR THEE

Through an intriguing conspiracy of circumstance and courage, Irishwoman Mary Elmes found herself center stage in two of the major theatres of warfare in the twentieth century. As an aid worker during the civil war in Spain, Elmes protected children from the bombs raining down from German and Italian bombers. Within a few years, the world was plunged into an even greater conflict, and the first industrial-scale attempt to eradicate an entire people had begun. Once more, doing nothing was not an option for Elmes. Narrated by Winona Ryder and featuring a wealth of personal archive as well as contributions from those who were spared the death camps because of Elmes, this is a story of unadulterated goodness set in a world of seemingly all-consuming darkness.
