Sept. 23 screening features Q&A with director Matías Piñeiro

Young Argentinian playwright Camila (Agustina Muñoz, VIOLA) lands a writing residency in New York adapting Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in this fresh take on the challenges of the artistic process. Encountering linguistic and cultural stumbling blocks, Camila takes solace in the relationships she maintains back home and the friendships she develops in the U.S. This touching and whimsical look at creative challenges was loosely inspired by the director's own residency in New York, and incorporates some the Bard's own work to spin a wonderfully inventive narrative that plays with time and location. Official Selection, 2016 Locarno, Toronto, New York and Mar del Plata film festivals, 2017 Rotterdam Film Festival. DIR/SCR Matías Piñeiro; PROD Andrew Adair, Jake Perlin, Melanie Schapiro, Graham Swon. Argentina/U.S., 2016, color, 87 min. In English and Spanish with English subtitles. NOT RATED
