Inspired by Béla Bartók's sole opera "Bluebeard's Castle" — and peppered throughout with its stirring refrains¬ — Gastón Solnicki's (PAPIROSEN, SÜDEN) portrait of several young women on the cusp of adolescence is a visually striking meditation on class, privilege and gender in contemporary Argentina. Alternating between the upmarket resort town of Punta del Este in Uruguay, and Buenos Aires, where work, school and other responsibilities begin to kick in, Solnicki's elliptical narrative sees the women's neatly packaged lives slowly begin to open up to the more complex realties of burgeoning adulthood. FIPRESCI Award, Best Film in Orizzonti, 2016 Venice Film Festival; Official Selection, 2016 Mar del Plata, Thessaloniki and Chicago film festivals. DIR/PROD Gastón Solnicki; PROD Iván Eibuszyc.
