Q&A with filmmaker James Lathos and Paul "H.R." Hudson

FINDING JOSEPH I chronicles the life and struggles of singer Paul "H.R." Hudson. The charismatic frontman helped pioneer hardcore punk rock with his energetic and explosive performances in the influential group Bad Brains, formed in Washington, DC. But H.R.'s devotion to the Rastafari faith guided him to leave the band time and again to explore his love for reggae. Over the years, Bad Brains have reunited several times, only to struggle with the singer's unpredictability. H.R.'s increasingly strange behavior has convinced many he suffers from psychological troubles. Featuring interviews with H.R., fellow musicians and peers, this documentary shines a light on one of the greatest frontmen in rock and roll history. DIR James Lathos; PROD Tero Viikari, Kevin McGuinness. U.S., 2016, color/b&w, 90 min, DCP. NOT RATED
