GUARANÍ

Steeped in the Guarani tradition, Atilio has dreamed of a male heir to whom he could transmit his beloved culture. So when he discovers his daughter is set to give birth to a baby boy in Argentina, he sets off on the long journey to Buenos Aires in a desperate attempt to ensure the baby is born on native Guarani land. Drenched in lush landscapes and rich local culture, this drama by Luis Zorraquín masterfully exposes the great generational divisions in modern Paraguayan society.
