Angolan-Portuguese filmmaker João Viana's (THE BATTLE OF TABATÔ) combines magical realism with an observant, documentary-like approach in this poetic, dreamlike tale, shot in stunning black and white. Lucy (Ernania Rainha) is confined to a psychiatric hospital in Maputo, Mozambique. While dreaming about reuniting with her war-separated family — her young son (Hanic Corio) and her husband, Pak (Pak Ndjamena) — she is accompanied by an unusual musical instrument: her hospital bed. Lucy's musicality attracts the attention of one of the nurses and, one day, her song appears on the radio. When an evangelical priest of "Rádio Moçambique" visits the hospital to listen to Lucy's song, she uses this opportunity to escape and go in search of her husband and son.
